My new novel, Anything is the closest thing to a “high concept” story I’ve ever written. It all centers around the question, “Would you do anything for the person you loved?” It seems to me that it’s relatively easy to say that you’d do anything for someone and an entirely different thing to actually act on that. So I decided to put my protagonist to an extreme test. How’d he do? Well, I’m not going to give that away.

Anything is also my first novel to incorporate a bit of fantasy. I had tremendous fun with that, and I’ll definitely do it again, but my focus, as always, is on the characters and their relationships.
